Ponta Delgada Joao Paulo II Airport has a single terminal that services domestic and international flights. It handles regular services to all other islands in the Azores as well as to mainland airports in Oporto, Lisbon, Funchal, Frankfurt and some US and Canadian cities.

Airport facilities include a post office, ATM, bank and bureau de change as well as travel agencies and a tourist information centre. Shoppers can find retail outlets as well as duty-free goods and although the airport does not have a proper restaurant, delicatessens and snack bars offer plenty of food options.
